In an interesting twist the £80 Micra passed the MOT, despite not being able to run properly.
We dropped it off at the garage, soon after we received a call saying it wouldn’t start. We push started it and they agreed to test it and passed it. Then it wouldn’t start when we went to pick it up and had to be towed away.
So it’s road legal now...

proof that people who say ‘its got an MOT’ as though this justifies that it should run are idiots.
good luck getting it fixed/running.

Yep, the MOT system is pretty crooked. To be fair it’s structurally sound and has strong brakes, all functioning belts, lights, wipers etc. The reason it has to be push started (we had to tow it up to 25mph to kick it into life) is the crank position sensor is completely dead, our new one gets here tomorrow. It’s one of the crappiest looking cars I’ve ever seen though. All shades of filler, rust and primer with some factory paint left. Very roadkill.

There can be no safer car than one that won’t move!

I was not aware of this purchase! Are you using it as a winter beater to save the Twingo...?

Na it’s my friends first car that I drive from time to time. In fact I've driven it more than he has at this point...
